Sergio Vega Borrego

Among Sergio’s latest credits are the film installations FIVE MURMURATIONS, FOUR NOCTURNES and VERTIGO SEA directed by John Akomfrah and premiered, the last two, at the 58th and 56th Venice Art Biennale respectively, the feature documentary ISLAND directed by Steven Eastwood, premiered at Rotterdam Film Festival and nominated to the Best Documentary at the British Independent Film Awards, and the feature documentary THE VALLEY OF THE JATO that I co-directed and went to win the Best Documentary Award at Rome Independent FF.

Sergio graduated in 2008 from the National Film and Television School where he attended the MA in film editing. During his time at the NFTS, he won a Kodak Student Award two years in a row for his directing and my cinematography. Since then he has been working on a wide range of projects; some have won multiple awards including the Talent Dove at Leipzig FF, Royal Television Society Student Award and broadcasted on Channel 4, BBC, ITV and The Guardian.
